Johnson is the General Manager and Executive Creative Director for Siegel+Gale’s Shanghai office. He oversees the company’s business operations and development in China as well as leading the team in finding the best solutions for their client’s problems. Known as “The Simplicity Company,” Siegel+Gale is a global brand strategy, design and experience firm. Using facts, intuition and creativity, to blend science with art and unlocking the power of simplicity to help organizations realize their full potential.
Johnson’s expertise spans corporate and brand identity, packaging, print and digital design. Prior to joining Siegel+Gale, he was the Executive Creative Director for the Greater China region at FutureBrand. He has led many successful client engagements throughout his career, including HUAWEI Technologies, Alibaba Ant Financial, Tsingtao Beer, Vanke, China Unionpay, Hilton, Mercedes-Benz, Thomson Reuters, Mindary Medical CITICPE and China Merchants Securities.
Johnson is the recipient of numerous design awards including the Singapore Crowbar Award, ROI Festival Award, and The Creative Future Award. He has also received the World‘s 100 Best Brand Recognition Remodeling Award three times for his work with Huawei, China Merchants Securities and BaoShang Bank.
Along with his team, he has also been awarded three Red Dot Design Awards, ten Transform Awards and three Rebrand Awards. Among those, he won the Red Dot Best of Best Award for his groundbreaking design work for Alibaba Ant Financial.
Johnson attended LaSalle International Design College and Middlesex University. He is a frequent guest speaker and lecturer for Asia Design Management Forum, International Air Transport Association and College of Design and Art at Tongji University and East China Normal University to speak on the topics of creativity and design logic.
