Daryl Choy is Director of an experience design firm that designs integrated customer, employee, and brand experiences, and helps organizations make lasting improvements to performance. Daryl has been a pioneer in experience design for more than 10 years. He is partner of Joe Pine, the author of The Experience Economy. He is also the founding member of Service Design Network Hong Kong Chapter. His research has also received recognition from professors from Harvard (Luc Wathieu) and Northwestern (Don Schultz).
Daryl comes with 20+ years of business experience. He started in business with Swire as a management trainee before assuming various roles across a wide range of business sectors, including fast moving consumer goods, business and professional services, IT and telecommunications, media and advertising, operations and logistics, and garment manufacturing. His responsibilities ranged the gamut from sales and marketing to management and human resources to learning and development. His most notable achievement would be overtaking Watsons as the most preferred water brand and ranked first in sales volume when he was the person-in-charge of Bonaqua carboy business. He also helps set up one of the WeChat-based universities in China, and is a sought-after speaker on a variety of topics for multiple WeChat groups.
Daryl holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Western Ontario, an MSc in Marketing from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a Chartered Marketer of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, senior member of Hong Kong Institute of Marketing, member of Hong Kong Management Association, and volunteer of Dialogue in the Dark. He is Visiting Lecturer of Polytechnic University on customer experience management. He was appointed as a co-opted member of Specification of Competency Standards Subcommittee, Qualifications Framework, Education and Manpower Bureau, HKSAR, member of Qualifications Accreditation Taskforce of Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management. He also sat on the 2008 Advisory Council for CustomerThink, a California-based global thought leader in customer-centric business strategy.
He has lived and worked in different China cities including BeiJing, GuangZhou, NanJing, ShangHai and ZhengZhou.
